Applying for United Way of Calvert County To request United Way funding in 2006, agencies must complete and submit a Request for Proposal (RFP). The RFP includes a checklist, glossary, UWCC RFP application, outcome logic model, Calvert County agency budget and CFC application (if applicable). Proposals should be typed and submitted to the United Way of Calvert County, 530 Main Street, P.O. Box 560, Prince Frederick, MD 20678-0560. United Way must receive proposals by 4:30 pm on Thursday, February 1, 2007. No late submissions or incomplete RFPs will be accepted. Funding Proposal This year, the UWCC will provide a three-year commitment for program funding. The multi-year funding agreement is contingent upon the financial success of the Community Campaign held annually as well as continued partner agency performance. This funding process has been developed with the input and best thinking of board members, agency representatives and United Way staff. The UWCC program funding year is July 1 – June 30. The three-year funding begins on July 1, 2007, and ends June 30, 2010. UWCC will consider proposals in this funding cycle from programs collecting outcome measurement in one of the following UWCC three Impact Areas: Build Bridges to Success for Children & Youth, Meet Basic Human Needs & Foster Family Health & Safety. If your agency is applying for funding for multiple programs, you must submit a complete Request For Proposal (RFP) for each individual program. Remember that by accepting funding from the UWCC, an organization is agreeing to abide by United Way Community Impact policies and procedures as well as reporting requirements. Each agency will be required to submit an annual data report (July 1-June 30) with their intended outcome resulting from funding supplied by the UWCC. Program Proposal Review The completed application is reviewed by the United Way Staff for completeness. Requests for additional information may be made at this time. In a 30-minute meeting, a team of board members and UWCC staff members will meet with agency and program staff or other individuals relevant to the request to gain greater understanding of the funding request. Individual Community Impact Areas will have a team of board members and UWCC staff members review all agency proposals. Using a Funding Criteria score card based on UWCC community outcome measurement and results, the team will rate individual proposals and make funding recommendations to the UWCC full Board of Directors. Funding recommendations will be based on the percentage of funding assigned to each critical Impact Area. Critical Impact Area information can be found later in this guideline.
