4. Women's annual giving to charity equals 93% of men's contribution, even though women earn an average of 75 % of what men earn.
5. The transfer of wealth between generations over the next 50 years is estimated to be between $41 and 136 trillion –given that women outlive men by an average of seven years, an estimated 85% to 90% will be solely in charge of family financial affairs.

1. Two thirds of adults below the poverty line are women and girls.
2. Women aged 46-64 are twice as likely as men to lack health insurance.
3. Only 1/3 of teen mothers receive a high school diploma.

1. There are 4, 125 Calvert County persons living in poverty.
2. 14% of Calvert County's adult residents function at the lowest literacy level.
3. 16% of children 0-5 years old in Calvert County livebelow 200 % of poverty level.
4. A 1999 survey indicated that nearly 9% of Calvert resident's ages 18-44 could not see a doctor because of the high cost of care.
5. In 2004 there are 295 developmentally disable individuals awaiting services in Calvert County.
6. In 2002 homeless shelters provided housing and support to 443 households.
7. In 2003 the sheriff's Office responded to 900 domestic violence calls, investigated 251 and served 1,856 petitioners in connection with domestic violence orders issued by the courts
