ArtsFest Prep
Help Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center prepare for their annual ArtsFest Fine Arts Festival.  Volunteers will help with a variety of tasks ranging from setting up tables and chairs to decorating tents to preparing for all the children's activities.  Have fun getting the garden ready and then enjoy a pizza party for lunch!  Volunteers should dress appropriately for the weather and wear comfortable shoes.  Sunscreen and bug spray is also recommended. 8-20 volunteers are needed for this project.

Arc Annual Picnic
Join the Arc for their annual agency picnic.  Enjoy good food and playing games with clients!  Volunteers should dress appropriately for the weather and wear comfortable shoes. 20-25 volunteers are needed for this project.

Indoor Office Painting
Several interior walls in two offices and the waiting room need to be painted at Bartsow Acres Children's Center.  Basic tools like paint and brushes will be provided.  Volunteers should wear work clothes suitable for painting and may bring their own gloves, masks, smocks, etc. 6 volunteers are needed for this project.

Add Chair Rail Moulding to Waiting Room
Chair rails need to be added around the perimeter of the waiting room at Barstow Acres Children's Center.  Volunteers should wear work clothes and comfortable shoes.  6 volunteers are needed for this project.

Lay New Bathroom Floor
One of the bathrooms at Barstow Acres Children's Center needs new flooring.  Please contact the site director for additional details.  6 volunteers are needed for this project.

General Kennel Clean Up
Volunteers are needed to help move yard debris like tree limbs and branches into a dumpster or into piles out of the way of dog-walking trails.  In the event of rain, volunteers will work inside cleaning interior windows.  Upon project completiong, volunteers will be given a tour of Calvert Animal Welfare League Adoption and Education facility and have the opportunity to interact with other volunteers and possibly animals available for adoption.  Volunteers should wear work clothes appropriate for the weather and comfortable shoes.  Sunscreen and bug spray are also recommended.  3-5 volunteers are needed for this project.

Games, Crafts, & Ice Cream with Residents
Work with residents to decorate Angel Tree tags to be used at Christmas time.  Afterwards, enjoy arts and crafts followed by helping to serve the residents at an ice cream social.  Volunteers should wear closed-toe shoes, comfortable shirts, and long pants.  4-8 volunteers are needed for this project.

Weeding & Power Washing
Help beautify the outside of the Burnett Calvert Hospice House by weeding and power washing the downstairs back patio.  Equipment needed includes 3 power washers, gloves, and at least one wheelbarrow.  Volunteers should wear work clothes appropriate for the weather.  Sunscreen and bug spray is also recommended.  3-6 volunteers are needed for this project.

Repaint Carport Railing

Sort Infant & Toddler Clothing
Volunteers are needed to help sort clothing donations for infants and toddlers up to size 4T to be distributed to center clients.  2-3 volunteers are needed for this project.

Morning Pantry Team
Be a valuable member of the Wednesday morning pantry team at Chesapeake Cares Food Pantry.  As a team member, you will be interacting with 60-75 families that have been invited to receive two weeks of supplemental groceries.  Volunteers will greet and sign in families, pack selected groceries from the client choice menu, bag fresh produce and other bulk items, and load groceries into families' vehicles.  Volunteers should wear closed-toe shoes, t-shirts, and jeans.  10-16 volunteers are needed for this project.

Home Repairs
Help a Christmas in April work team to perform essential repairs for a local homeowner in need.  Applications are currently in review and a tool list will be provided to registered volunteers approximately one week prior to work.  Volunteers should wear work clothes appropriate for the weather and provide their own work gloves, safety glasses, and sturdy shoes.  8-20 volunteers are needed for this project.

Warehouse Maintenance
Lend a hand at the End Hunger warehouse to help with general maintenance tasks that aren't always possible to accomplish in one day.  Volunteers should wear work clothes appropriate for the weather and closed-toe shoes.  8-12 volunteers are needed for this project.

Harvest Help
Volunteers are needed at Serenity Farm to help with basic tasks such as cleaning, weeding, and harvesting and boxing produce.  Volunteers should wear work clothes appropriate for the weather and will need to provide their own work gloves.  Sunscreen and bug spray are also recommended.  25-50 volunteers are needed for this project.

Replace Heat Pumps, Lighting Fixtures, & Ceiling Tiles; Repair Bathroom; Paint
This project will be coordinated by Christmas in April.  Volunteers will work to replace three heat pumps, make needed repairs/upgrades to the bathroom, replace lighting fixtures, replace ceiling tiles, do interior/exterior painting and yard work.  Volunteers of all skill levels can help, but an electrician is especially needed.  A tool list will be provided to volunteers approximately one week prior to work.  Volunteers should wear work clothes that are appropriate for the weather and provide their own work gloves, safety glasses, and sturdy shoes.  20-50 volunteers are needed for this project.

Paint Outdoor Kennels
Join the Humane Society for a fun day of painting, no experience required.  Teams of two will be painting outside kennels at the shelter.  Volunteers should wear work clothes that are suitable for painting and weather appropriate.  10-40 volunteers are needed for this project.

General Landscaping
Help make the front entrance to Project Echo Homeless Shelter beautiful by removing small shrubs, placing pea gravel, and doing general landscaping tasks.  Volunteers should wear work clothes that are appropriate for the weather and bring their own gloves, rakes, and sunscreen.  6-8 volunteers are needed for this project.
